Ranchi : Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced that the state would soon get five new medical colleges and 100 colleges as a part of government’s efforts to boost higher education.
Das, who inaugurated Raksha Shakti University here in the state Capital jointly with the governor of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu, said that the government was working meticulously on its plan to open a number of higher education institutions in the state. He said the students of the state will be connected with skill development programmes. He said the 100 colleges will be opened in all assembly constituencies systematically.
The CM made the observation while addressing a programme of Higher, Technical Education and Skill Development Department at Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration after inaugurating the Raksha Shakti University. Addressing the gathering, the CM said that Industrial Security Force will be raised soon in order to protect the industries across the state.
“The people of the state need to be made more skilled. The government will train the youths so that they can take the state forward in the changing global perspective. 10th pass poor youths will be given priority in diploma course in police science. The parameter of higher education in the state is much low. To boost it up, the government has made higher education department and appointed secretary for speedy results in higher education department. The establishment of Raksha Shakti University is the result of such endeavour,” he said.
Das said that the world needs skilled people and the government wants to skill the youths so that they can know how they are supposed to work in global perspective. He said that rural boys and girls will be trained as per their inclination and made self dependent. Addressing the teachers and students, he said that they have to work hard.
In her address, the governor said that it is a comprehensive endeavour on part of the government. Youths are full of zeal to be appointed as police personnel and soldiers. They work hard but in want of appropriate guidance, they do not get success. This university will guide such youths properly. University students will contribute in eradicating social evils, Murmu said. Referring to increasing cyber crimes in the state, the governor said that students have to neutralize it.
State education minister Neera Yadav said that the Raksha Shakti University will play an important role in training the youths in connection with defense. The state is proud to have opened the Raksha Shakti University in such a short time. She said that this university will play an important role in training the youths of the state.
High, Technical Education and Skill Development Department secretary Ajay Kumar Singh said that the opening of the university was a ‘historic move’. Students will be trained better and this institute will be developed as resource institute.
The governor distributed appointment letters to seven teachers for employment on contract basis.
Principal Secretary to the governor A K Satpathy, SWO Anil Palta, ATI director P K Jajoria, higher education director Balandu Murthy and many other dignitaries were present on this occasion besides registered students.
