Panaji : Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) Scheme will be launched by Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Vishwajit Rane, in the presence of Parimal Rai, IAS, Chief Secretary, and C R Garg, IAS, Secretary Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, on February 28, 2019, at Institute Menezes Braganza (IMB) Hall in the city. According to a statement here on Tuesday, the scheme is a fully funded flagship Skill Development programme of Government of India with a vision of a “Skilled India”, to skill India on a large scale.
The objective of the scheme is to enable a large number of youth to take up industry-relevant skill training for securing a better livelihood. The Short Term Training courses will benefit candidates who are either school/college dropouts or unemployed. Trainees shall also be imparted training in Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy. Duration of the training varies per job role, ranging between 150 and 300 hours
