Gujarat Industrial Policy has laid an emphasis on the need to create industry responsive & readily employable manpower in various segments. In order to take this initiative further, keeping the pace with the changing technology and overall Industrial Environment, the State
Government also intends to enhance skill of existing manpower, trainers and faculty members of institutions with an active participation from industries. With this view of the strategy under New Industrial Policy, Govt. has introduced a “Scheme for
enhancement of technical competence and manpower”.
The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development-CED (A Govt. of Gujarat Organization) from Industries Commissionerate has been assigned Skill Development activities as a nodal agency for smooth implementation of the scheme.
Objective:
As per the scheme, the Government may decide to avail the services of National Level Expert Institutes/ Renowned personality in the respective sector for effective implementation of the projects, refer Government Resolution No. CED-112015- 24553-I Dated: 1/4/2015 National Level Expert Institute would play an advisory role to State Level Implementation Committee for the specific objective of providing need based, industry-responsive managerial and technically competent manpower at various levels to the industries in the state, along with the need of bench-marking the courses, as per the following seven schemes:
(i) Financial Assistance for setting up of Anchor Institutes.
(ii) Short Term Bridge Courses by Industries/Institute.
(iii) Specialized Skill Development Centres
(iv) Skill Up-gradation Centres (SUCs)
(v) Skill Development to MSME Sector
(vi) Supports for setting up Gems & Jewellery Training Centre/Institute.
(vii) Assistance for Tuition Fees for Enhancement of Skill.
Proposals are invited for empanelment of National Level Expert Institute/Mentor to provide advisory services for skill development activities of the Centre of Entrepreneurship Development.
