Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Vijay Rupani called for upgrading the faculty and incorporating practical knowledge about the world in the syllabus for students, more than bookish knowledge, to compete in the global market to be global citizen. He was speaking at a function to distribute certificates to 552 teachers of seven engineering colleges of the state at the Central Government’s Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) in UK Universities organized by the State Education Department in collaboration with the World Bank at Mahatma Mandir here today.
The seven engineering colleges are Patan, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Vidyanagar, Morbi and Bhavnagar.Rupani exhorted the state’s youth live up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘s ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ ‘Skill India’ and ‘Startup India’ campaigns.
He recalled how Modi as the Chief Minister of Gujarat initiated opening a series of specialty universities and center of excellence. strengthen teaching-learning process for all round development of the state’s youth. He wished the state became a Number One Knowledge Hub of India’ as it is also a ‘Manufacturing Hub’.He said that sharing experience and knowledge are the keys to Human Resource Development.
