Hisar : Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said that a policy is being framed to open girls’ colleges so as to ensure that girls do not have to travel beyond 10 kilometers to pursue higher education in the state.
Under the policy, areas would be identified by next year for setting up more colleges. Besides, the government would fill up 3,000 posts of professors in colleges, said the Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Adampur in Hisar district.
He said that the State Government is of the view that not even a single girl child in the State should feel deprived of the facility of higher education and that she should get this facility in the nearby areas.
Manohar Lal said that with a view to overcoming the shortage of doctors in the State, the State Government has formulated a policy under which a medical college would be opened in each district. These colleges would produce about 2,000 doctors every year. Besides, about five lakh youths would be imparted training under the Skill Development Mission to make them self-employed, said he.
