Chandigarh : Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister Vipul Goel today said that during 2018-19, the state government has proposed to establish 20 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Goel was speaking to reporters after the presentation of budget 2018-19 by finance minister Abhimanyu in the ongoing session of the state Assembly here today.
Goel said that on the pattern of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ for skill development of the youth, Haryana Skill Development Mission has been launched by the state government which has a target to impart training to 1.15 lakh youth during 2018-19. He said that Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University was being set up at Dudhola district Palwal. However, it has already started functioning from a temporary campus at Gurugram.
He said that the state budget 2018-19 will prove very significant towards providing employment to youth as Rs 657.94 crore has been proposed in this budget for the Skill Development and Industrial Training as compared to Rs 458.71 crore in the revised estimates of 2017-18, thereby registering an increase of 43.43 per cent.
Goel said that the state government has reached out to the unemployed with succor under the the ‘Saksham Yuva Yojana’. He claimed that Haryana has become the first state in the country which aims to provide 100 hours of paid work every month to the educated unemployed youth.
Meanwhile, Goel said that Haryana Agri-Business and Food Processing Policy 2018 is under formulation, which aims to attract an investment of Rs 3,500 crore and to generate 20,000 new job opportunities in this sector. He said that the policy endeavours to give impetus for progressive growth in food processing industry in the state.
Further, by establishing efficient forward and backward linkages, it aims to create greater employment opportunities across the entire food value chain, thus promoting agriculture and rural prosperity, he said.
