Haryana ITI admissions to start from July first week, government to start Helpdesk Call Centre for online counseling

Chandigarh : Haryana Government on Saturday said it has issued instructions regarding creation of infrastructure for establishing helpdesk or call centre for online admission counseling for session 2018-19 in Industrial Training Institutes (lTls).

The online admissions in all ITIs of the state will start within first week of July.

A spokesman of the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department said that helpdesk and counseling centres are to be established in all government lTls where trainees’ strength is more then 100 and where trainees’ strength is less than 100 but COPA trade is functioning.

He said that institutes with intake capacity of 100 to 200 sanctioned seats should have five computer systems with printer, minimum 2MBPS broadband internet speed, up to five data entry operators and 5 KVA dedicated DG set. Similarly, institutes with intake capacity more than 200 and up to 500 sanctioned seats should have ten computer systems with printers, minimum 2MBPS dedicated broadband internet speed, Up to 10 data entry operators and 10 KVA dedicated DG set. He said that the institutes with intake capacity more than 500 sanctioned seats should have 20 computer systems with printers, minimum 5MBPS dedicated broadband internet speed, up to 20 data entry operators and 10 KVA dedicated DG set.

The spokesman said that as majority of admission seekers belong to rural area and poor families so keeping in view to facilitate and encourage the youth to take admission in lTls, institutes may outsource the facility of filling of admission forms in the counselling or helpdesk centre at the rate of not more than Rs. 20 per admission form (complete in all respect) under the supervision of Nodal officer appointed by the Principal of respective institutes. The charges so accrued will be born out of the student fund of the institute. No fee is to be charged from candidates for filling the form.

He said that principal will appoint a computer savvy senior faculty as Nodal officer for all the activities related to admission counseling process. Principal will maintain the record of all candidates and persons who have filled online forms from their respective institutes.

The call centres or helpdesk at institutes must be fully functional at least 5 days before the start of admission process. These instructions are applicable for all concerned ITIs as mentioned above.

He said that private lTls would also be directed to create or establish helpdesk and counseling centre in their institutes for benefit of candidates.
