Gurugram : The Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) on Monday launched 10 courses under the industry integrated dual education model, in which academics will be merged with on-job training provided by industry partners, at HSIIDC office, Udyog Vihar.
The programmes launched include a post-graduate diploma on geo-informatics in which students will closely work with the government authorities in Gurugram for a year, a Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) degree in automotive manufacturing and automotive mechatronics in association with Hero MotoCorp, B.Voc in business process management and data analytics with Concentrix, B.Voc in tool and die manufacturing and B.Voc in robotics and automation with JBM Group, and a post-graduate diploma in public health with IQVIA, among others.
State industries minister Vipul Goel, who was the chief guest at the launching event, said that the state government was keen to impart skills to students that they could use to earn while pursuing technical degrees at the university. The courses have been designed by industries so that the gap between education and employability can be bridged, giving the students job opportunities after completion of the courses.
All the courses will provide on-job training from day one, as well as stipends. The courses have been designed in a way that the students can earn while they learn. We will also provide an opportunity to students to become entrepreneurs by joining these courses by registering themselves under the ‘Saksham Yuva’ with the department of employment in the state, he added.
Minister also released ‘The Process Manual for the Industry Integrated Dual Education Model’, prepared jointly by HVSU and Ernst & Young.
The courses that were launched on Monday for the academic session 2018-19 include: Automotive Manufacturing and Automotive Mechatronics with Hero MotoCorp Pvt Ltd, BVoc in BPM and Data Analytics with Concentrix, BVoc in Tool and Die Manufacturing and BVoc in Robotics and Automation with JBM Group, PG Diploma in Public Health with IQVIA, PG Diploma in Geo Informatics, Advanced Diploma in Plastic Engineering with TRIM-India, Diploma in Ethnic Foods and Sweets Processing with Bikanerwala and Diploma in Industrial Electronics with East-West Automation. Admissions in all these courses will commence online on April 17.
HVSU vice-chancellor Raj Nehru said, “The range of courses is diverse, from traditional foods to automation and data analytics; they cater to the needs of all type of aspirants, who want to skill themselves.”
