Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM) is instituting a new attendance tracking system for trainees attending its centers throughout the state. Going forward, trainees participating in short-term skill development training programs, which include courses such as assistant electrician, data entry operator, beautician, warehouse packer, junior analyst, yoga instructor, and more, will be required to record their attendance using their Aadhaar card.
The development came after the arrest of IAS Vijay Dahiya earlier this month, six months after he was booked for graft. An HSDM official said there were also complaints of trainees being absent and non-registered candidates also coming to the centre.
The project was first tested at the HSDM centres in Kurukshetra, Karnal and Rewari. “We wanted to see if there was any flaw in the system so we could rectify before launching it across the state. We have now made it compulsory at all the centres to ensure clean practice and transparency,” the official said.
The trainings at these centres are conducted for around four months in courses aligned with National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)
