Shri Vishwakarma Skill University and UNDP organized workshop on “Women in the workforce”

Gurugram : Realizing the need of Empowering women, cultivating their capabilities and harnessing their productive potential adds to the social and economic growth of the country,  industry integrated department of SVSU (Shri Vishwakarma Skill University) and UNDP organized a workshop on “Women in workforce” where eminent speakers from industry shared their views

Beyond the supply side there is also a need to focus on the demand side to improve opportunities and employment experiences for women.

Mr. Vikram Kasbaker, Executive Director-Operation (Plant) of Hero MotoCorp delivered the keynote through which he emphasized on the changing scenario of the Indian shop floor in manufacturing sector and how the deployment of women workforce is enhancing the productivity.

He announced the of starting an exclusive batch of female for Hero MotoCorp plants based in NCR as a Hero MotoCorp’s move to create pull factor for women in workforce.

Mr. Rajeev Sharma- Head- Skill Development at JBM too announced a exclusive batch for female in the upcoming session 2019-20 for the JBM plant based in NCR.

Both the programme would be Industry integrated dual model of Skilling and the students would get an opportunity of earn while learn during the programme.

A panel discussion was also held in this workshop which was moderated by Ms. Runa Maitra, Founder & Director, People Talent International.

The Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University Shri Raj Nehru in his valedictory speech spoke about the role of women in Indian social system and how today’s Indian women is climbing the professional ladders, in the corporate sector, armed forces, manufacturing sector, and even taking up such unassuming roles like becoming a taxi driver or the welder. All recent trends and researches have shown that women had contributed significantly in the profitability and process of various organizations.

Eminent speakers from various organizations including industry as well as academia attended the workshop.
