Chamba tops NITI Aayog’s Delta Ranking in education and skill development

Chamba : The Aspirational Chamba District continued to maintain its 1st Delta Ranking in the field of education, financial inclusion and skill development across the country, as observed by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.

In a recent letter, the Union Ministry lauded the efforts of the district administration in achieving the goals of aspirational district plan and described these endeavours as “encouraging”.

The Aspirational Chamba District has been conferred the overall 18th rank with a composite score of 42.2 in Delta Ranking of 115 aspirational districts of the country, the Ministry’s letter stated. The district administration has adopted strategic plans to climb to the top 10 delta ranks, as set by the NITI Aayog.

Under the Aspirational Districts Programme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2018, the government had identified the least developed districts in the country and Chamba was one of them.

While crediting the officials of all departments associated with the implementation of Aspirational Distrtict Plan, Chamba DC Harikesh Meena said NITI Aayog found the efforts of the district administration “positive”.

“My sincere endeavours are to usher in refreshing changes in the district with a dedicated team of officials through commitment, creative interventions and innovations”, Meena said, adding that the administration was working with a pragmatic approach, driven by passion and compassion, to make things better.
