Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) organized review meeting on PMKVY 2.0

Shimla : With a vision to improve the implementation of skill development initiative Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Yojana (PMKVY 2.0) with Training Service Providers (TSP), the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) organized a review meeting at Shimla on 22/06/2018. The meeting was chaired by Principal Secretary – Technical Education and Industries to the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. R.D. Dhiman.

Shri Rohan Chand Thakur, Managing Director, HPKVN, welcomed the Principal Secretary and briefed him about the working of HPKVN. All the issues pertaining to skill development value chain starting mobilization, training and placement were discussed. Based on inputs and requests from TSPs and HPKVN officials Shri. Dhiman has suggested to set in place a robust mobilization strategy with the support of HPKVN District Coordinators, and forge linkages with industry to assess the demand of skilled manpower for sustainable placement opportunities for certified youth. He also assured to strengthen HPKVN district teams for support to the TSPs and quality audits of training program.

Shri Dhiman impressed on HPKVN and TSPs to take up the job roles suited to Himachali youth and for which placement potential is within Himachal Pradesh. HPKVN has already started training in 37 centres for 50 batches in the training. A target of 3,180 numbers has been allocated and 1,440 trainees are undergoing training.
