New Delhi : The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. has tied up with Apparel Made-ups & Home Furnishing SSC under its CSR initiatives to impart training on Self Employed Tailor & Sewing Machine Operator job roles, to the youth in the New Nalagarh, Dist. Solan, Himachal Pradesh region. The training would be impacted by Wazir Advisors (Training Provider). Through this joint initiative the Council will assess and certify the successful candidates.
The inauguration of the skill development centre was done by Mr. S. Ravishankar, Chief Manager, The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. at the New Nalagarh Center, where Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Regional Manager, Mr. Y. S. Tomar, Regional Manager and Mr. Vinnie Taneja, Assistant Manager, The New India Assurance Co. Ltd were also present during the ceremony.
The initiative has also been appreciated by Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Regional Manager, The New India Responsibility Initiative, Assurance Co. Ltd.
Dr. Roopak Vasishtha, CEO, AMHSSC thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in bringing the Skill India mission to the masses and thanked all concerned in organizing such a nice programme for men and women of the New Nalagarh Region. Under the programme free of cost training would be imparted to the men and women in the region and would then be assessed and certified under the Job roles Self Employed Tailor and Sewing Machine Operator. Efforts will also be made to provide placement to these trained candidates.
Dr. Roopak Vasishtha also mentioned of the enthusiasm which has come in the skilling ecosystem after the formation of Skill ministry and it’s taking over by Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and assured the participants of the fullest support of the AMH SSC in their noble efforts.

CSR initiative, youth, especially female candidates, would get immensely benefited and get employed. Other speakers termed this as historic and appreciated the efforts being made under the CSR initiative by The New India Assurance Co. Ltd.
Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council has been formulated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India and NSDC to develop Skills repository for Apparel value chain, National Occupational Standards in the industry, establish well-structured Sector specific Labour Market Information System and improvise the training delivery value chain, including third party assessments and certifications.
The mandate given to the Council includes creation of National Occupational Standards, Affiliating Training Providers in Apparel Trainings and assessing and certifying the trainees of such Institutes/Training Providers.
The Council has been given an ambitious target of certifying more than 2 million persons till 2022 in the Skilling Courses for the Apparel sector. The Council is spearheading the Skilling work in the sector by participating in the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and various other schemes of different states including the non-PMKVY schemes.
The Council envisages imparting training to the youth of the country not only through various government schemes but also through its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative (CSR).
