Srinagar : In an attempt to avoid public attention, the Jammu & Kashmir State Skill Development Mission (JKSSDM), which caught the headlines recently for all the wrong reasons, has not mentioned the name of its mission head, Ghulam Nabi Peer, in a handout issued here on Wednesday.
The J&K Information Department’s press release about a two-day leadership and capacity building training programme, “Executive Government Leaders Fellowship and Young Business Leaders Fellowship”, held at the SKICC, mentions the names of the resource persons, of minister Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, and also of the organisation that has collaborated with the mission, but nowhere mentions the name of the person who actually presides over the event, that of Ghulam Nabi Peer, though he can be seen in the photograph attached with the handout.
It is pertinent to mention here that the controversy over the appointments made in various government departments by throwing recruitment norms into the bin led to the removal of MD ICPS who the state had poached from UNICEF. Among such appointments was that of Ghulam Nabi Peer as head of the Skill Development Mission.
The programme for which the statement was released was aimed at enhancing the ability of government officials to inspire and build transformational vision and strategies for the state and paving way for them to implement the best decisions for the people of the state.
Three experts from BRIDGE International, Singapore, EY, Singapore & Manan Trust, Hong Kong have been brought to train over 40 participants from the business sector & government departments such as Social Welfare, Revenue, Urban Development etc.
