Ranchi : To make sure that the Government not only stands on its target of providing 25,000 jobs to skilled youths by January 12 next year but also delivers quality workforce to the industry, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma on Thursday sought help from every single stakeholder who wants to see skill development mission in State turning into a mass movement.
Verma said that Jharkhand has taken a leap of faith among investors and industries which were eager to tap all the potentials of yet untapped State full of opportunities.
Inaugurating Sector Skill Council Summit conducted by Higher Education and Skill Development Department here on Thursday, Verma said that sunrise sectors other than mining like service, food processing, apparel, retail and Information Technology should coordinate at their best and create maximum number of jobs for the youth in State. Addressing the CEOs of 34 companies from Skill Sector, the CS appealed them to work in mission mode and become the Government’s partner in the development of the state.
In a first ever Sector Skill Council Summit in State, Verma said that the Government endeavours to train the youths of the State in different skills and make them employable at national and global level. “The Government tries to employ the youths in the State itself. In this regard, steps have been taken to start 19 and 74 industries in the first and second phases respectively. The CM has targeted to provide the nation the most reliable work force by training 50 lakh youths between 15-30 years age group,” added the CS.
She also said that apart from direct jobs, the Government conducted Momentum Jharkhand to get job platform for thousands of job seekers. “In the third phase of industrialization, the Government will try to get at least 100 companies planted under the MoUs signed during Momentum Jharkhand,” she said where Higher Education Secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh, Mission Director Ravi Ranjan, Mission Sector CEO Amar Jha, Lt (retired) SP Kochar, CEO JSLPS Paritosh Upadhyay, Jaikant Mishra of NSDC and CEOs of all the skill development 34 companies were present.
Secretary of the department Ajoy Kumar Singh said that the Government is working to realise the MoUs signed during Momentum Jharkhand. “Many Mega Skill Centers have been opened. Skill related programmes are being run in colleges and all stakeholders are being brought on one platform to give the nation a Skill Jharkhand. 20 lakh youths have been targeted to be trained by 2022. Companies like Simens wants to open skill center in the State,” said Singh.
