Jharkhand youth to get skill training on recycling plastic waste, JSDMS signed MoU with CIPET

Ranchi: Youth of Jharkhand will now get an opportunity to get skilled training in plastic processing and waste plastic recycling. In this regard, in the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, an MoU was signed between Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS) and CIPET- Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology on February 1.

The MoU was signed by Mission Director cum Chief Executive Officer, JSDMS Sunil Kumar and CIPET Director AK Rao.

As per the MoU signed with CIPET, youth of any region from the State will now be able to get skilled training in the trades of plastic processing, injection molding and plastic extrusion among others at the Hehal Centre in Ranchi. Once trained in these three trades, the youth will have employment opportunities in pipe industry, automobile sector and plastic manufacturing among others. The minimum qualification for training in the three job roles will be 8th pass while the training period will be of 90 days.

The skill training programme will be started with special precaution during Covid-19 after the approval of the State government.

As a part of the training process, trainees will also be given additional training related to Covid-19 while necessary changes will also be made at the centres. Demonstration of publicity material related to Covid-19 like what to do and what not to do, Aarogya Setu app, hand-washing, masks, social distancing will be made mandatory at the centres.

According to the operation guidelines sent by the Mission to the training service providers regular cleaning of classrooms, laboratories and toilets will be done.

Any trainer, trainee or employee with symptoms of Covid-19 will not be allowed to enter the training Centre. The Centre will also have to make preparation to take any person with Covid-19 to a health Centre.

Mission Director cum Chief Executive Officer Sunil Kumar has described the skill training in the subject of waste plastic processing as an innovative opportunity for the youth of Jharkhand and has said it will benefit the youth of the State.
