1 lakh youth to get free skill training in Kerala; KASE signs MoU

Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE ), The State Skill Development Mission and State Skill Secretariat has signed an MoU with SGBS Unnati Foundation to provide free employability skill training to 100,000 unemployed youth especially from rural and underprivileged groups from the state.

KASE is on a mission to scale up the skill delivery ensuring access and inclusivity. Different provisions, schemes and interventions envisaged are being implemented leveraging the strength of the stakeholders from the skill ecosystem. Addressing the gap in the employability skills of educated job aspirants is top priority. Communication and Interview skills appears to be the biggest challenge of job aspirants from the state to avail the opportunities around them.

The association with SGBS Unnati Foundation under the CSR support of Infosys shall focus on enhancing the communication skills, life skills and interview skills among educated job aspirants.

The program consists of 165 hours of training covering areas such as spoken English language skills, life skills, values, basic computer knowledge, and vocational training based on their educational qualification. There is an e-learning platform that gives the students access to various content, including around 600 videos, specially designed for employability. This empowerment gets translated to performing well in the interviews and in securing a great job. KASE shall organize special job fairs for the candidates who completes the training successfully.

Separate batches for educated job aspirants and final semester students of graduation and post – graduation across the state shall me organized in the coming months.
