Bhopal : State Information Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on the director of skill development mission, Jabalpur and has served show cause notice to him along with the joint director for not providing information to an applicant under RTI Act.
Applicant Vipain Kumar Upadhaya filed the application under RTI to obtain information from the skill development office situated in Jabalpur. The public information officer did not provide the information and after second appeal he provided only partial information.
Commissioner Heeralal Trivedi on June 7, 2017 had ordered to pay Rs 10,000 to the applicant and this amount had to be given by skill development director Sanjiv Singh but the officer did not pay the amount.
Following the hearing held recently in the commission, commissioner Trivedi imposed penalty of Rs 25,000 and ordered to serve show cause notice to the errant officials. He has also written a letter to the department to take disciplinary action against them for ignoring the earlier orders.
The commission has also instructed public information officer of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya and directorate of technical education, Bhopal to submit the annual report of 2016 in the commission office on or before August 17.
