Pune: Under the Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya Uddyojagta Vikas Abhiyan (Maharashtra State Skill Mission), Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune has been selected as Training Partner Acharya Chanakya Kaushalya Vikas Kendra (ACKVK) to enrich the skills of cooperative stakeholders for business diversification and employment generation.

The Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi launched the ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development’ scheme in India today. The program was broadcasted via video conferencing in Pune. VAMNICOM, Pune has taken part in this program through online mode.

During the financial year 2024-25, MSSDS invited applications to set up Acharya Chanakya Kaushalya Vikas Kendra (ACKVK) under the Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya Uddyojagta Vikas Abhiyan to equip the youth and relevant stakeholders in agriculture, industry and service sectors to gain skills for employment, business and enterprise moves

VAMNICOM, Pune has been selected as a Training Partner (TP) under Skill Development Mission in the State of Maharashtra to provide necessary skills about Input development (Qaulity Seed grower) & Technology management (Kisan Drone Operator) for the financial year 2024-25. This initiative aims to promote business diversification and generate employment within the cooperative ecosystem, aligning with the Ministry of Cooperation’s new initiatives and schemes.

The training provided through the ACKVK will help to build a more skilled workforce within the cooperative sector, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among members. This, in turn, will lead to stronger, more resilient cooperatives capable of addressing the needs of their communities.

The focus on skill development through partnerships like that of VAMNICOM marks a pivotal step towards realizing the potential of cooperatives in India. As these initiatives take shape, they promise to enhance business diversification and employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the nation.

Cooperatives, which have historically empowered marginalized communities, contribute significantly to rural development. They provide fair access to markets and encourage collective decision-making among members. As the demand for skilled labor rises, the need for continuous skill enhancement becomes critical.

Skill development initiatives within cooperatives can lead to increased employability, foster entrepreneurship, and promote social cohesion. By providing tailored training programs, cooperatives can equip members with essential skills in areas like modern agricultural practices, digital marketing, and quality control.

The Government of Maharashtra’s commitment to establishing ACKVKs under the Skill Development Mission complements these efforts. By integrating cooperative training and skill development into the broader mission, the state aims to create a more resilient workforce capable of meeting evolving market demands.

As cooperatives and skill development initiatives work hand in hand, they promise to uplift communities, enhance economic stability, and pave the way for a brighter future for millions across Maharashtra and beyond. The ACKVK inauguration marks a significant step in this direction, heralding a new era of employment generation in India.
