Pune: Medhavi Skills University (MSU), Sikkim, in collaboration with RSB Transmissions, inaugurated the Work-Integrated ITI (CTS) training programme under the Flexi-MoU scheme of DGT.
It is noteworthy that Medhavi Skills University has previously signed an MoU with the Directorate General of Training (DGT) to implement the Flexi-MoU scheme. This scheme offers on-the-job training-based Flexible ITI (CTS) programmes in partnership with various esteemed industries. Students will earn an ITI (CTS) Qualification certificate while gaining practical work experience as trainees at the partner industry premises.
Developed by DGT, the Flexi-MoU Scheme aims to meet the demands of both industry and youth. It enables industries to train candidates according to their specific skill sets and offers students a training environment aligned with market demands and the latest technological advancements. The scheme aligns perfectly with the mandates of the New National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes practical and relevant training aligned to industry requirements. It also makes education affordable and equitable, aiming to increase the gross enrolment ratio.
MSU has partnered with RSB Transmissions, Pune, a globally reputed automotive manufacturing OEM company, and has deputed 110 Flexi ITI Trainees for the inaugural batch. ITI Qualification is one of the most sought-after vocational education qualifications by our youths in India.
Mr. Abhay A. Mahishi, Deputy Director, Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (RDSDE), Maharashtra, was the Chief Guest at the event. Representing RSB Transmissions were Mr. Durga Prasanna Das, Plant Head; AGM – HR, Mr. Mukesh Kumar; and Senior HR Manager, Ms. Parvati Nayak. Also present was Mr. Mehboob Saiyyad, Managing Director at TalentCorp Solutions India, the candidate sourcing and staffing partner for Medhavi Skills University.
Medhavi Skills University was represented by its Founder & Chancellor, Mr. Pravesh Dudani. Also present on behalf of Medhavi were Mr. Sajeev Kumar S, Vice President, Industry Relations, and Mr. Sitaram A. P., General Manager, Skill Integration and Certification.
In his speech, the Chief Guest, Mr. Abhay A. Mahishi, emphasized the unique model of the programme, which allows students to continue their education while gaining real-time, hands-on experience in an industry setting.Â
Mr. Pravesh Dudani, Founder & Chancellor of Medhavi Skills University, highlighted that the Flexi-MoU Training Programme is a significant initiative aimed at bridging the employability gap and fostering a well-trained workforce, in line with the New Education Policy 2020.
Mr. Durga Prasana Das, Plant Head at RSB, stressed that trainees should be multi-skilled and will be provided with role rotations every quarter of the programme. He also mentioned that students would receive a stipend as per industry standards during their On-the-Job Training (OJT) period.
Medhavi Skills University will seek to implement the scheme with multiple such reputed industries across the manufacturing hubs of India. As a UGC, NCVET, DGT, and NSDC recognized University, MSU is committed to expanding the Flexi-MoU scheme across various industrial regions in India for the benefit of both youth and industries. The programme operates under a “Learn & Earn” model, empowering youths from disadvantaged backgrounds to complete their higher education through MSU.
