Pune : Savitribai Phule Pune University will be starting two new courses in the vocational education section. These two courses will be a graduation course in Vocational Education namely Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) in Automotive Manufacturing and Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) in Supply Chain Management.
The university has started these two courses in the Skill Development Department. The students who enroll for these courses will get to train themselves in the respective companies which are into automotive sector or supply sector.
The degree is for a duration of three years. Students who complete this degree will receive a degree certificate of B.Voc from Savitribai Phule Pune University. University Grants commission is giving importance to education based on skill development so that students will simultaneously get education, degree and a skill that can be used to gain employment.
“These courses will be done in a work integrated pattern as per National Employment Enhancement Mission and the students who enroll for them will get opportunity for on-job training in Automobile and other sectors. The students may even be able to get stipend during their stint in companies for on-job training. The theory part of the course will be partly given by the Skill Education department of the varsity and industrial experts, while the practical part of the course will be given by undergoing his on-job training,” said the official release from the varsity.
