Imphal: The RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) conducts skill development and self-employment activities at a relief camp in association with Seva Bharati that is also currently running a Model Relief Center at the Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Skill Development Center (RBSDC) in Haraorou for individuals affected by a fire incident allegedly caused by armed Kuki militants. The affected individuals are from the areas of Leitanpokpi, Ikou, Sadu Lampak, and Sadu Yengkhuman in Imphal East, Manipur, whose houses were burned down in the incident.
The objective of this initiative is to provide skill training to the affected individuals while they stay at the relief camp and to support their livelihoods once they return to normalcy after the violence. The Institute of Bioresources Sustainable Development and the Central Agricultural University, both located in Imphal, are involved in conducting skill development and self-employment activities related to different job roles at the Model Relief Center. It is worth mentioning that the Manipur unit of RSS and Seva Bharati are managing and operating the Model Relief Center at RBSDC Haraorou.
