Mumbai : From November onwards the University of Mumbai will offer three skill-based certificate courses in line with the National Skill Development Mission. Aimed at building industrial skills among the youth, particularly from economically weaker sections of society, the university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday with the American India Foundation to start courses in store operations, software testing and paint chemistry.
The courses have been decided after identifying high growth sectors in the industry.
The American India Foundation, a charitable trust, will provide financial support to students and the courses will be held at the University’s Garware Institute.
With an intake capacity of 40, admission to the six-month courses will be held twice a year and students will be charged a Rs 2,000 for the six months.
