Dimapur : A Nagaland Government organized a two day Career Workshop and Job Mela at Agri Expo, 4th Mile, Dimapur on November 17 and 18.
About 10 reputed national and international companies, such as Airlines, 5-Star Hotels, Restaurants, Beauty and Wellness along with many more, conducted interviews. These leading companies also selected 40 youths by direct recruitment during the job fair. The eligibility criteria for the job recruitment was Class 10 pass and above 18 years to 25 years of age.
Principal Consultant, Aditya Bran Mallick informed that a survey conducted in Nagaland revealed that 62 percent of the youths are ready to work in the private sector outside the state.
According to Director, Labour and Employment, Muthingnyuba Sangtam, there are over 72,000 educated unemployed people in the state.
Parliamentary Secretary, Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu said that the Job Mela is an opportunity for the Naga people, who are primarily focused on the Government sector, to open their minds in the private sector.
Keditsu said the department has gone up to the grassroots level and studied the aspirations of the youths and their dreams. He further added the career mapping would be able to highlight the potentials of the youths.
On November 18, Chief Minister, T. R. Zeliang released a book on “Aspiration and Capacity Mapping Study” and also launched the departmental website.
