Dimapur : Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) organized one day outreach program for the potential Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), the skill development and placement program of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India on August 4 at Hotel Seb Tower, Dimapur.
The event was organised to bring PIAs and the project appraisal agency for DDU-GKY in Nagaland, NABCONS to assess the level of preparedness for implementation of DDU-GKY.
Delivering the key note address, State Mission Director of NSRLM, Athel O Lotha, informed that under DDU-GKY, the Ministry of Rural Development has given a target of 6924 rural youths to be trained and given placement by the year 2020.
She said preference will be given to local PIAs who fulfil the Ministry’s criteria for implementing skill development and placement projects by obtaining Permanent Registration Number (PRN) from the Ministry of Rural Development.
The North East scenario of DDU-GKY implementation was shared by Tenzing Choesang, North East Representative for DDU-GKY MoRD and Menuoneituo Chadi, COO (Skills), NSRLM shared the action plan of Nagaland as approved by the Ministry. Technical session on PRN registration, various processes of proposal submission and appraisals were conducted by representatives of NABCONS from New Delhi and Guwahati.
