Kohima : In line with the strategic objective of developing pool of resource persons from within cutting edge staff, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted a three day multi-thematic training at RD conference hall, Kohima held from June 28-30.
The objective of the training is to develop 20-30 State Resource Persons (SRPs) in each of the 9 Resource Blocks to provide capacity building support towards enhancing programme quality of the Mission. NSRLM believes in developing enough human resource capital to address issues of poverty both within the State as well as outside, during the Mission period.
District and Block staff from the 9 NSRLM districts and staff of the State Mission Management Unit underwent intensive classroom lectures and interactive sessions on the thematic topics of social inclusion and social mobilization; gender & convergence, capacity building management, financial inclusion & finance management and livelihoods. The training was conducted by 9 NSRLM staff who had recently undergone ToT at NIRD, Guwahati. As a follow-up, the district/block level trainings will be organized to achieve the target.
Athel O. Lotha, Jt. Secretary RD & Mission Director NSRLM encouraged the staff for continued ownership of the program as development professionals and to translate learning to actions also at the community level. M. Rollan Lotha, COO (Programs) chaired and facilitated the training sessions and reiterated on the overall goal of NRLM in the country, and how state specific objectives and results contribute towards national goals through a Results Framework analysis.
The program concluded with a field visit to Kigwema Village, Kohima District where Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Participatory Rural Appraisals (PRA) were conducted along with members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Village Level Organization (VLO) from the village. Transect walk, social and resource mapping were also done by trainees.
