Bhubaneswar : Visiting the ongoing Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Training programme Minister of Steel & Mines, Labour and ESI, Odisha Mr. Prafulla Kumar Malik appreciated OP Jindal Community College’s effort in building skill of Construction Workers in Odisha. During his visit to the programme at Marthapur in Bhuban block of Dhenkanal District the Minister interacted with the trainee participants and expressed his satisfaction with the training. Building skill of such grassroot level workers will help in improving their livelihood on a sustainable basis and quality of service delivery. Principal of OPJCC Mr. Gopal Chandra Pradhan explained the minister about various aspects of the training.
OP Jindal Community College (OPJCC), Angul has organised this training programme as a part of Government of India’s Recognition of Prior Learning Scheme. So far, it has imparted Mason Helper Level-1 training to 2896 working persons in 14 blocks of eight districts in Odisha. The training programme at Marthapur was started on 12th December with 60 participants and will continue till 26th December 26.
OPJCC is an empaneled training provider for the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) of Construction Worker’s Scheme. It had recently signed MoU with Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (OB&OCWB) for upgrading and certifying the skills of construction workers in the State.
Besides, the OPJCC located at Odisha’s Angul and Barbil has run several programmes like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Modular Employable Skills (MES) and other programmes in partnership with the Government organizations. Both the Colleges have so far upgraded skill of more than 25000 persons in the State.
OPJCC is also located at Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. These colleges are renowned for exemplary vocational skills development, training of trainers, and preparing learners for the workforce in high demand, high growth technical trades.
