With the event, termed “Social Upliftment Day”, to be held at the ‘Gopinath Gadh’ at Parli in Beed, the organization has promised a series of offers including skill development and jobs to youth. Gopinath Gadh is a park spread over 18 acres with a 70-foot statue of Munde.
While the Maharashtra government has put on hold its MoUs for skill development with cab aggregators such as Ola and Uber till it frames new regulations controlling their operations, the Gopinath Munde Pratishthan has tied up with one of the companies to provide jobs to youth in Beed district. The organization, controlled by the Munde family, has promised to distribute Ola cabs to unemployed youth who have learnt driving, on the occasion of Gopinath Munde’s 67th birth anniversary on December 12.
While there is an ongoing tussle between Ola, Uber and the Black and Yellow taxi, the transport department is framing a policy for the Ola and Uber cab services. Unless their regulations are framed, the two MoUs cannot be implemented.
The invitation, extended by Women and child Development Minister Pankaja Munde and MP Pritam Munde, has listed a series of offers from skilling youth and women in mobile repair, computer hardware and other skill development programs, besides providing jobs to unemployed youth and loans to women. Health checkup camps have been organized too. The chief guest for the event is Maharshi Uttam Swamiji Maharaj from Rajasthan. Despite repeated attempts, Pankaja Munde, could not be reached for comment.
