Pehal Resource Center to become first ‘Disabled Employment Registration Center’
Amritsar : The Pehal resource centre under Vocational Rehabilitation Council of India will soon become the first registration centre for employment for the disabled. The centre will also set up north zone’s first self-help group for the intellectually challenged.
Talking about the implementations, Dharminder Gill, co-ordinator, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, and the resource centre, said, “The employment registration centre to be set up will enable disabled candidates to enroll with us for placement opportunities. We will develop a network of potential employers according to the disabilities and limitations of the candidates to provide them a suitable job. Also, we will start enrolling disabled candidates for technical and non-technical courses within this week. The purchase of raw material for the non-technical skill development courses like carpentry and paper-bag making is currently underway and we will launch the academic course from December 3.”
