Puducherry Skill Development Society partners with IPE Global; aims to revamp skill development landscape at UT

In the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mr N. Rangasamy, the Hon’ble Minister for Labour, Ms S. Chandira Priyanga, Mr S.D.Sundaresan I.A.S., Secretary to Government (Labour) and other dignitaries the MOU was signed by Mr P. Saravanan, The Director, Puducherry Skill Development Society, Puducherry and Mr Shalender Sharma, Director, IPE Global Limited, New Delhi

Under the MOU, PSDS will receive technical assistance for Strengthening institutional mechanisms, providing access to skill training opportunities to the marginalised sections, building a pool of quality trainers and assessors, creating convergence among all skill training activities, establishing a robust monitoring and evaluation system for skill training programs, catering to the skill requirements in relevant manufacturing sectors, etc.,

Puducherry Skill Development Society (PSDS) today exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IPE Global Limited, New Delhi, for engagement of the Project Management Unit (PMU) to obtain technical assistance in the Skill Development Programme through Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) project.

Hon’ble Chief Minister has said that the Puducherry Skill Development Society will implement various skill initiatives which will be tailored to the specific needs of end-users, in view of distinct local circumstances, customs and cultures with an emphasis on the use of information and communication technology (ICT) to improve quality, efficiency and transparency in service delivery with the support of Project Management Unit under the CSS scheme SANKALP.

The government of Puducherry will revamp the Skill development landscape in this UT of Puducherry through this initiative.

The Hon’ble Labour Minister said that Puducherry State Skill Development Mission is the apex authority for Skill Development initiatives in Puducherry and the Puducherry Skill Development Society is the implementation agency. The MOU will be operative for three years and the Government will closely work with various stakeholders to equip the Skilling activities to meet the modern age requirements.
