Chandigarh : Punjab Skill Development Mission is undertaking Aajeevika Evam Kaushal Vikas Divas at 37 blocks in Punjab aimed at increasing the reach of rural households to livelihoods and skill development schemes of the Government.
The day, to be inaugurated on May 5, at Shivalik Public School, Phase-VI, Mohali, is the part of several events planned by the Central Government’s Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, started from April 14 to May 5, 2018, in the country.
“During this event, students will get registered under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana and Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) from the Union Ministry of Rural Development and skill development schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) etc of the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through Kaushal Panjee Portal,” said the spokesperson.
Besides, some nominated members from the various banks will also be present there to apprise youth about their loan disbursement patterns under various schemes for promoting self employment, added the spokesperson.
Spokesperson added that PSDM is also making efforts to improve soft skills and communication skills of the youth of Punjab aged between 15-35 years by running soft skill courses in all the districts to increase their employability potential. Various private institutes and government institutes or organizations are working in collaboration with PSDM to impart free skill training.
