Jaipur : Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), Jaipur organized a one-day principal’s conclave “Kaushal Samvad” of ITIs of Rajasthan in association with Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship (DSEE), Government of Rajasthan. with an aim to increase awareness about skill development.
The agenda of this conclave is to bridge gap between all stakeholders who are working for skilling India and to bring everyone on the same pitch. With this platform, stakeholders have shared most innovative and creative ways for skilling youth.
Mr. T. Ravikanth, Secretary Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Labour said, “ITIs have changed a lot over time. There are major demands for opening ITIs coming to the government as the placement rate of ITI is best. Kaushal Samvad is happening because some of ITIs are doing very good while some are doing average; to bring everybody on the same pitch, this Kaushal Samvad is organized. To answer questions like how to manage manpower, student placement, market linkage to learning, teaching, how to increase industry partnership; this event is being organized. We will work out on all possible suggestions coming in this Kaushal Samvad.
DSEE is doing whole lot of work to promote skill development in state, in fact Chief Minister, Smt. Vasudhara Raje in budget session also announced smart classroom to facilitate students studying in remote areas and will also solve manpower issues that the industry is facing. We are focused in the way of promoting all sort of activities for skill development.”
Dr. (Brig.) SS Pabla, President of BSDU says, “Education, vocational training and lifelong learning are the pillars of employability. To enable employment ready workforce in future, the youth needs to be equipped with necessary skills and education. For better jobs, graduation and post-graduation is very important but ITI pass-outs used to not get entry in universities for higher education in absence of which students cannot move up the hierarchy of jobs. To address this issue, government of Rajasthan has introduced 10 + ITI equivalent to 10+2 but with a condition to pass English language exam, we request removal of this condition also especially for skill development universities.
With 50 acres of land in Mahindra Sez, Jaipur, we will be making new campus and are planning 36 skilling schools where more than 40 sectoral skills will be taught to students. Now, we will have lot of space for new students to make skill as a career for better jobs. Training Institutions that are imparting technical education should focus on ways of improving quality of education which would make students more competent in their skills, he added.
