Skill development and training programme inaugurated for youth by KVTSDC

Minister of State for Labour P.T. Parameshwar Naik inaugurated the divisional-level skill development and training programme for youth organised by the Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation Ltd. (KVTSDC) and the Department of Employment and Training, here on Monday.

About 1,000 unemployed youth from different parts of the region participated in the programme and the Minister said it will help them shore up vocational skills to make them employable. He said there was no dearth of job opportunities in the State provided the youth harnessed their skills in different trades. The Minister referred to various job-oriented and training programmes launched by the government to help the youth and urged them to make use of it.

Revenue Minister V. Srinivas Prasad said the youth should be encouraged to be entrepreneurs and self-reliant instead of depending on the government for jobs. He also noted the importance of computer literacy and English in the job market and wanted the youth to focus on them.

The participants took out a rally to mark the occasion. MLAs Vasu, G.T. Deve Gowda, Tanvir Sait, and Mayor B.L. Bhyrappa participated.
