‘Students should opt for skill and capacity building to boost economy of state’ : Khriehu Liezietsu

Kohima : Parliamentary secretary of Youth Resources and Sports and State Lotteries and Music Task Force, Khriehu Liezietsu asked students to re-invent the dignity of labour while addressing the gathering as the chief guest on the occasion of 21st annual day programme of Oriental College Kohima on December 3 at the college auditorium.

Liezietsu advised the students not only look for government and white colored jobs but opt for skill and capacity building to become skilled workers and entrepreneurs which would boost the economy of the state. He said that currently the state was mostly dependent on outsiders. Students as future leaders should practice and inculcate positive actions and thoughts for what they sow today would be reaped tomorrow.

“It is high time we as a society and state become self-reliant, we should be physically and mentally prepared ourselves to do all the jobs for our development, as well as for our daily survival” he added.

Lauding the college authorities for imparting quality and skilled development education to students, the parliamentary secretary also asked students to acquire the education system imparted by the college.

He also appreciated the farsighted pioneers of the college who had understood the importance of skill development and  quality education. He said without quality education a man could not realize his full potentials.

Principal Dzivichu in his welcome speech said college has been excelling in academic and other curriculum activities all because of dedicated faculty, management members and students. He said college would focus on skill development while not forgetting imparting quality education.
