Tamil Nadu : The US based computer software company, PTC, in association with Dysmech Consultancy Services (DSC) today set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in KSR Engineering Institutions in Tiruchengode in Tamil Nadu, with an aim of providing holistic education to aspiring students in India.
The CoE is the first of its kind facility initiated under PTC Centre of Excellence Program which consists of setting up a world class facility by establishing a laboratory along with industry standards software, hardware, machinery and certified training, under one roof for developing high quality skilled workforce of industry relevance, said Sajith Parambil, Director-Academic Programme, India and South Rim at PTC.
The Rs 25 crore facility will undertake training of students with real life experiences, a commitment to provide high quality technical skill development that will be relevant to the manufacturing sector, Dr Thyagaraja, Principal of the Institutions said.
PTC has provided full-fledged support to set up the centre by providing content, curriculum, software, technology to enhance the learning experience of 2,400 students in the Institutions, he added. To start with, the final year students will be given training from this academic year, with nine hour per week–and for two years, the faculty from PTC and DCS will be available to guide the students, he further said.
Pune-based DCS’ chief advisor, M Rahul Naidu said that there was a huge skill gap in manufacturing industry in India.
