Agartala : A total of 1,16,000 youths of Tripura would be imparted training under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana ( PMKVY) by 2020, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. PMKVY is a flagship scheme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
“These youths would be trained about industry-relevant skill to generate employment,” said Deb while speaking at the launching programme of state component of PMKVY at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala on Saturday.
Of the total, 37,062 youths would be trained by the state government under centrally-sponsored state managed component,” said Deb. The state component of PMKVY was launched in Tripura first in the northeastern region.
“Tripura lacks skilled manpower and this paved the way for employment for the skilled labours from other states,” the Chief Minister said and stressed to make the youths of the state skilled like Japan.
Deb reminded that his government could ensure job opportunities through various approaches rather than providing jobs in government sectors.
“My government could not ensure government jobs to all. But I can ensure job opportunity to unemployed,” he said.
