Union labour minister inaugurated Telangana’s First Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK)

Hyderabad : It was a different experience for Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya when he visited NTR Bhavan, TDP’s main office on Saturday.

The minister inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK Centre) at NTR Trust Skill Development centre. This is the first PMKK Centre approved by the Centre in the State.

Saturday’s event clearly proved that after shifting TDP’s key affairs to AP, the NTR Bhavan is now mainly serving as a centre for the NTR Trust to organise skill development programmes. Party general secretary Nara Lokesh and his wife Brahmani are looking after the affairs of the NTR Trust and skill development activities.

The trust bhavan was sanctioned a two-acre land land in 1997 for 33-year lease by the then TDP government in the erstwhile united AP. But, post-bifurcation, the party leadership relocated all the key wings from the bhavan to party’s present headquarters to Guntur.

Interestingly, it may be mentioned here that way back in 2001, after setting up TRS, the party boss and present Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, used to predict that, “Soon, Telangana State will be formed. After that the TDP leadership will have to put a ‘to-let’ board to the NTR Bhavan as its activities will shift to Andhra”.
