Bathinda (Punjab) : Union Food Processing Minister and local MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today inaugurated a state-of-the-art multi-skill development centre here in the complex of the Industrial Training Institute, where training will be provided to over 2,000 students annually in various skill courses.
After inaugurating the centre, the minister said the centre would provide training to students of Bathinda and rural areas of other districts in 19 streams, including apparel and textiles, manufacturing, automotive, automotive designs, fitness, English speaking, IT and soft skills.
She said the course duration would be between three months and one year. The lowest educational eligibility for some of the courses is 5th pass where as others require 10th and 12th qualified.
She said under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Skill India Mission, the partner of Punjab Government in Punjab Skill Development Mission, Gram Tarang, had joined hands with 12 renowned companies of the country.
Harsimrat said these companies would provide placements to the candidates after completion of their respective courses from the centre.
Divulging details regarding candidates from BPL families, Badal said these candidates would get free accommodation, meal and transportation as all such expenditure would be borne by the government.
