US based, IMRC to establish 10 skill development centers under “Kushal Yuva”

Bihar : In order to enhance the skills of youth in Bihar, US-based Indian Muslim Relief and Charities (IMRC) has decided to establish ten skill development centers in 10 blocks covering six districts of Bihar.

The skill development centers established by IMRC are under Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM), constituted in the year 2010 with the vision of increase the capacity and capability of the system to deliver quality skill training and professional knowledge to the youth to enhance their employability. BSDM had come up with a unique skill training program under the name of “Kushal Yuva Program”.

Youths in the age group of 15-25 , who have studied till Class 10 or 12 and have dropped out of formal education to look for jobs will be eligible for training at IMRC centers. The candidates will receive soft-skills training which would comprise of life skills, communications skills (English and Hindi) and basic computer literacy which in turn would enhance their employability.

The blocks selected for these schemes are Forbesganj and Jokihat of Araria District, Kadwa of Katihar district , Dighalbank and Kochadhaman of Kishanganj district, Amour and Dagarua of Nawada district, Tajpur of Samastipur district and Chehrakal of Vaishali district.

“We have to provide all hardware and accessories i.e. 20 computers per center and one server (plus two computers in reserve), CCTV camera, bio-metric, printer, gensett, power backup inverter, headphones, projector etc. These are for each center and we have 10 centers so 220 computers along with all peripherals are to be procured as capital cost,” said IMRC, President Maqsood Quadri.

“Initially, we will be training 40 students/center for three months, this may increase to 60 after a year. We have a contract for 15 months to train five batches a total of 2,000-3,000 students. The contract is renewable for five years,” he added. The first batch is expected to start by third week of December, 2016.
