Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority to setup employment generation hub, will also skill youth and promote startups

GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has decided to set up an employment generation hub to train job seekers and facilitate their placement in industrial units and startups in the neighbourhood.

The hub will also promote startups, entrepreneurship and skill development. The move comes against the backdrop of local farmers, whose land has been acquired for different projects, frequenting the GNIDA’s office seeking jobs for their children.

Greater Noida has developed into an education hub with over 300 academic institutions, colleges and universities. There are 1,223 functional industrial houses and around 50 offices of IT companies. GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan said these companies and factories are always in need of trained manpower and can hire local youths in search of jobs.

Bhooshan said the GNIDA would provide space and infrastructure for the training of youths. Private companies will also send their trainers for the sessions. “We will have an incubation centre where ideas will be encouraged. We will also encourage students and youths for innovation. Youths having basic education will be provided training in skills development to ensure their smooth placement in firms,” he said.
