Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission organized Saras Mela 2018, DDUGKY trainees won people’s hearts with their skills

Dehradun : Rural youth of Uttarakhand getting trained under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) have won people’s hearts at the ten-day long Uttarakhand SARAS Mela 2018 organised by Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission (USRLM) that ended on 18th November.

In its continuous endeavour to create industry ready candidates, DDU-GKY Uttarakhand in collaboration with its PIAs TeamLease and Anand Books International had set up “Student Food Corner” at the Mela. The food corner gave real time opportunity to the students to manage and run a restaurant. Students have shown professionalism and good use of their training while preparing and serving food to the customers. They bagged a “Special Prize” in the exhibitors’competition organised by USRLM for food quality and hygiene.

Skill demonstration by Health care sector students has also received appreciation from the public. More than 400 people got their Blood Pressure checked by students.

DDU-GKY students have shown elegant hospitality while hosting national and international dignitaries at the VIP lounge. Dignitaries recognized students’ efforts and appreciated the efforts of DDU-GKY in developing industry ready workforce.

At the closing ceremony, Job Offer Letters were distributed to the first ever internationally placed students under the DDU-GKY program in the State.

Principal Secretary – RD Dr. Manisha Panwar, Additional Secretary – RD Dr. Ram Vilas yadav and COO DDU-GKY Dr. Prabhakar Bebni encouraged students by advising them to utilize this real time experience into their learning and avail full benefit of the DDU-GKY program for their bright future.
