Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) : The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) is conducted a state level workshop on DDU GKY for orientation of Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) and for generating larger awareness on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, here at Itanagar.
Secretary (RD & PR), Dani Salu highlighted the need of skill development, especially for youth of rural areas who have not been able to leverage benefits of formal higher education.
Earlier, Special Secretary for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Nitika Pawar provided a detailed overview of several initiatives undertaken by the state government for Skill Development. She informed that the state government has trained 11,456 youth under the Skill Development Initiative scheme, out of which 2736 youth are working with various organisations all over the country as well as abroad.
It was also informed that the state government has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with NHPC to sponsor 150 youth for undergoing employable skill development training in earthmover related tasks.
The state government has also introduced World Standard Mechanic Motor Vehicle Trades at ITI Dirang, which is being implemented in collaboration with Tata Motors. Similarly, the state government is to introduce a Hyundai Certification Course with an agreement for placement of graduating trainees in the Mechanic Motor Vehicle Trade of ITI Roing.
The CEO cum State Mission Director ArSRLM also gave an overview of DDU GKY. He said that proactive involvement of PIAs is critical for success of the programme
The State Level Workshop is being attended by representatives of nearly 20 different agencies from North East India. The programme is being coordinated by N B Doye, Senior State Mission Manager (HR) and Tatar Mosi, Programme Manager (HR, SP) from ArSRLM.
The workshop is being attended by representatives from agencies, who are interested in being associated as PIA in DDU GKY.
Regional Representative of DDU GKY for North East Region, Tenzing Choesang, Project Officer Monitoring, Evaluation, Training and Development from NIRD & PR NERC, Pankaj Dowari, Associate Project Consultant from NABCONS New Delhi, Aditya Mohan Pradhan are also attending the workshop.
