JSLPS and SightSavers joined hands, launched Employment Campaign for Disabled

New Delhi: Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society and Sightsavers jointly launched “Employment Campaign for Disabled” at hotel BNR Chanakya, Ranchi today. The occasion was inaugurated by Mrs. Nancy Sahay CEO, JSLPS.

The objective of this campaign was to create awareness about disability and promote equal employment opportunities for differently abled people in private sector companies PAN India.

A MoU was signed between JSLPS and Sightsavers focusing on mainstreaming PWD Candidates to private sector companies. This also majorly focused on providing equal opportunity to differently abled and their placements in conducive work environment through the private employers.In this context, the employers were aware of present scenario of such disabled people and were also asked to recruit PWD candidates in their respective organisation.

On the launch of this campaign CEO, JSLPS Mrs.Sahay said that “Social Inclusion and Capacity Building are the main pillars to be focused for the disabled people to ensure the employment in private sector.” In her address she also said that, “through DDU-GKY, RSETI, and special training for differently abled and self employment opportunities will be strengthened.” Through JSLPS and Sightsavers joint initiative, the implementation of this campaign will be done by zero ignorance of the needy.

In this noble session, various employers of DDU-GKY were also present where, an employer from apparel sector Mr. Ashwini talked about “relocation and training of differently abled women” since, 80% workforce of his organisation is constituted of women and they will be obliged to recruit trained PWD workforce in their organisation.

The August session was also addressed by COO, JSLPS Shri Bishnu C. Parida, CEO Sightsavers Mr. R.N. Mohanty, Mr. Devprakash, Mr. Hasnain Warshi – SPM JSLPS and different esteemed guests from the development sector and civil society.
