Don Bosco Tech launched the second Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra in New Delhi

Don Bosco Tech Society has climbed another stature and successfully inaugurated its second Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra at Najafgarh, New Delhi on November 11, 2017. The solemn ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Kinny Singh, (IAS) Sub Divisional Magistrate, Najafgarh.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) along with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is making continuous efforts to skill the unskilled population of the country with the vision of making India, the ‘Skill Capital of the World’. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) is a huge step in establishing a model and iconic center of excellence for skill development. With a vision of empowering the rural youth through skilling, Don Bosco Tech is partnering with NSDC for setting up PMKK center in West Delhi Constitution. Don Bosco Tech Society, a network of 420 skill training centers, Don Bosco Tech is arguably the largest spread across 28 states of India.

Don Bosco skill training centers that attempts to bridge this widening divide between those who have access to opportunities and those who are increasingly being marginalized from the ‘new economy’ jobs. Don Bosco Tech addresses this endemic problem with a market-based approach that is sensitive to the socio-economic needs of marginalized youth in the 18-35 years age group. Don Bosco Tech is an example of synchronous social action of various stakeholders, which is aimed at mainstreaming and ensuring economic security for youth who could be victimized by poverty. To enable them to gain a foothold in the competitive job market, Don Bosco Tech helps them acquire the required livelihood and soft skills in an environment of learning and mentoring that is responsive to the individual’s emotional and developmental needs. Don Bosco Tech provides employment-linked, market-driven vocational courses of short duration to the economically and socially marginalized youth.

Various esteemed guests were a part of the program like employers for various sectors, representatives from Construction Sector Skill and Electronics Sector Skill, Ward Councilors’ from the locale, Ward Mandal Presidents’ President of Federation of RWA, President of Dhanak Samaj and several other socialists.

Following the inauguration program, a Kaushal Mela was organized for the youth of the locale and around 100 youth have been registered. Kaushal Mela, is basically stalls set up for the youth to understand the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra program and explore their possibilities for their better future.
